Foreign selling of key banking and utility stocks on Monday pressured the FBM KLCI down to close at a five-month low, triggered by fears over rising US interest rates and worsening US-China trade tensions. The index lost 16.05 points to end at the day's low of 1,678.10, off the opening high of 1,707.02, as losers beat gainers 520 to 298 on total turnover of 2.04bn shares worth RM1.97bn. The overnight correction on Wall Street sparked by fears over wider trade restrictions on technology should spread to the region and locally to further depress sentiment. Immediate support for the index is adjusted down towards the 123.6%FP (1,664) and 138.2%FP (1,636), with the 150%FR (1,614) matching the Nov 2016 low acting as crucial support, prior to an oversold bounce. Immediate overhead resistance stays at 1,708, next at 1,729, followed by 1,752 and 1,780, the respective 76.4%FR and 61.8%FR levels, and then 1,802, the recent pivot high matching the 50%FR. Further foreign selling may depress CIMB shares towards the 76.4%FR (RM5.17), while a breakdown may test stronger supports at RM4.80 or the 30/12/16 low (RM4.49) prior to oversold rebound, while key overhead resistance is at the 61.8%FR (RM5.60) and 50%FR (RM5.94). Likewise, RHBBank may fall towards the 76.4%FR (RM5.35), with breakdown to aim for stronger supports at the 61.8%FR (RM5.20) and 50%FR (RM5.07), while major resistance from the 123.6%FP (RM5.86) matched the recent 11/6/18 peak (RM5.88). Asian Markets Unsettled By Trade Uncertainties Asian stocks fell on Monday, as investors assessed prospects for continuing trade tensions between U.S. and China. President Donald Trump plans to bar many Chinese companies from investing in U.S. tech and to block additional technology exports to China, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday evening, citing people familiar with the matter. The two measures are set to be announced by the end of the week, and are intended to counter Beijing's Made in China 2025, a Chinese initiative to be a global leader in technology. Meanwhile, policy makers in China moved fast to temper any potential economic drag from a trade dispute with the United States, with China’s central bank on Sunday saying it would cut the amount of cash that some banks must hold as reserves by 50 basis points (bps). The reserve reduction, the third by the central bank this year, had been widely anticipated by investors and is aimed to accelerate the pace of debt-for-equity swaps and spur lending to smaller firms. Japan’s Nikkei share average dropped on Monday as sellers targeted large caps including Fast Retailing and SoftBank as well as defensive stocks. The Nikkei fell 0.8 percent to 22,338.15, extending the weekly drop of 1.6 percent in the past week. In Australia, the benchmark ASX 200 fell 14.8 points, or 0.24 percent, to 6,210.4 as the heavily weighted financial sector declined 1 percent. Across the Korean Strait, the Kospi finished near flat at 2,357.88. China stocks also gave up early gains to close lower, as a weakening yuan pushed lower real estate and airline shares. The Shanghai Composite Index slid 1.1 percent to 2,859.34. Page 1 of 7
  4. 26-Jun-18 Escalating Trade Tensions Rattle Wall Street Escalating trade tensions between the United States and other leading economies battered U .S. stocks on Monday, with major indexes seeing their biggest one-day drop in weeks and the Dow bearishly closing below a closely watched level for the first time in two years. Trump is moving to curb Chinese investments in U.S. tech firms, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday. Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Monday said forthcoming investment restrictions would apply “to all countries that are trying to steal our technology,” not just to China. Hours later, White House trade and manufacturing adviser Peter Navarro walked back Mnuchin’s remarks, telling CNBC that the restrictions on investing in tech companies would just target China. The fresh escalations in the global trade conflict had sent investors fleeing from some of the market’s best-performing technology firms. Major U.S. indexes had already been struggling for traction as jabs between the White House and Beijing exacerbated fears among investors of a full trade war breaking out between the world’s two biggest economies. Tech was the biggest decliner of the day, with Netflix falling 6.5 percent, Facebook losing 2.7 percent and Amazon.com shedding 3.1 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 328.09 points, or 1.33 percent, to 24,252.80, the S&P 500 lost 37.81 points, or 1.37 percent, to 2,717.07, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 160.81 points, or 2.09 percent, to 7,532.01. (The Edge) Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd secured about RM465.1mn worth of new contracts involving operations and maintenance and engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning projects via wholly-owned subsidiaries Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd and PT Serba Dinamik Indonesia. The contracts involve projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, Bahrain, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. (Bursa Malaysia) Kelington Group Bhd secured new orders worth RM104mn, bringing the group’s accumulated value of new orders secured YTD to RM181mn. The contract wins were primarily from the Ultra High Purity segment for Kelington to provide specialised engineering services for the semiconductor and electronics companies. It added that most of the new contract wins were from Malaysia followed by Singapore, China and Taiwan. (Bursa Malaysia) D&O Green Technologies Bhd is spreading its wings into Japan, as it seeks to increase its market share in the country’s light-emitting diode component markets. The group said the foray into Japan was after it was granted approval to incorporate Dominant Opto Technologies Japan K.K, a wholly-owned subsidiary of its 89.79%-owned Dominant Opto Technologies Sdn Bhd. (Bursa Malaysia) Euro Holdings Bhd is eyeing up to 15% growth in revenue for FY18, mainly driven by its property development segment. Group managing director Datuk Seri Jeffrey Choong Yuen Keong said the anticipated top line growth will come from Euro's ongoing RM180mn property project Damai Vista in the Klang Valley. (The Edge) Grand-Flo Bhd sees the IT business picking up post GE14 with stronger earnings expected, fuelled by positive consumer sentiment. Its president Derrick Tan Bak Hong is bullish on the group's earnings this year, driven by its IT segment as consumer sentiment turns more positive and with more clarity, following GE14. (The Edge) Gabungan AQRS Bhd proposed a bonus issue of Warrants B on the basis of one Warrant B for every four existing shares held to reward existing shareholders and to raise additional working capital, when Warrants B are exercised in future. The exercise price and entitlement date will be announced later. (Bursa Malaysia) Page 3 of 7

(Bursa Malaysia) NTPM Holdings Bhd’s 4QFY18 net profit fell to RM1.2mn from RM9.0mn a year ago due to higher material costs. (Bursa Malaysia) Hiap Teck Venture Bhd's net profit for 3QFY18 tumbled 95.8% to a mere RM1.3mn from RM31.9mn in 3QFY17, due to higher operating expenses and a significantly higher share of loss incurred by its joint-venture during the quarter under review. Despite the significant drop in 3Q earnings, the group's net profit for the 9MFY18 jumped 37.3% to RM47.9mn from RM34.9mn in the same period the previous year. (Bursa Malaysia) Page 4 of 7
  7. 26-Jun-18 N e w s I n B r i e f Economy Malaysi a Economy to Remain Favourable in August-October Malaysia ’s economy is expected to remain favourable between August to October 2018 based on the findings of the economic indicators, says the Statistics Department. It said the monthly leading index (LI) indicator in April increased by 0.1% to reach 119.1 points from 119.0 points in March. Two main components of LI that contributed to this increase were the number of housing units approved (0.4%) and number of new companies registered (0.2%). The annual change of LI also recorded a better growth of 1.4% as against 0.3% in the previous month. The LI monitors the economic performance in average of four to six months ahead. However, the department pointed out the coincident index (CI), which examines the current economic activity, slipped by 0.3% in April. Capacity utilisation in the manufacturing sector and volume index of retail trade were among the components that contributed to the decrease which posted negative 0.2%t, respectively. The annual change of the CI rose by 2.8% in April 2018. The diffusion index for LI showed an improvement for April 2018. However, the diffusion index for the CI remained at 66.7% since January 2018. (The Star) Asia BOJ Should Continue Powerful Easing, Guard Against Side Effects Bank of Japan policymakers said the central bank should “patiently continue” its powerful monetary easing but attention must be paid to the potential side effects of prolonged easy policy, a summary of opinions at the June review showed. Some board members said the central bank needs to keep monetary easing from severely distorting economic and financial conditions, and to make the current policy sustainable. With inflation well below the BOJ’s 2% target despite five years of stimulus, one member said the central bank must make efforts to improve communication with the public on its commitment to meet the price stability goal, the summary showed. “It is appropriate, if necessary, to make efforts to improve communication and enhance the commitment in a broad sense towards achieving the 2% inflation target,” the member said. The BOJ left monetary policy steady at the June 14-15 rate review but cut its inflation view in a sign it would lag far behind other major central banks in unwinding crisis-mode monetary stimulus. Subdued inflation forces the central bank to maintain its massive stimulus despite its rising costs, such as the hit to bank profits from rock-bottom interest rates. (Reuters) Japan Leading Index Rises More than Estimated in April Japan's leading index improved more than initially estimated in April, latest figures from the Cabinet Office showed. The leading index, which measures the future economic activity, rose to 106.2 in April from 104.5 in March. The flash score for April was 105.6. The coincident index that reflects the current economic activity climbed to 117.5 in April from 116.0 a month ago. The April reading was revised down from 117.7. The lagging index came in at 117.3 in April versus 118.1 in March. (RTT) Singapore's Inflation Up in May Singapore's headline inflation rose in May with further increases expected over the course of the year. The consumer price index (CPI) was up 0.4% year-on-year, in line with economists' expectations and picking up the pace from April's 0.1% rise, according to a Department of Statistics statement. Core inflation, which strips out the cost of accommodation and private road transport for a better gauge of everyday expenses, rose 1.5% year-on-year, a faster pace than the previous month's 1.3% rise. The increases in both headline and core inflation were largely due to a faster pace of price increases across all the major categories of the CPI basket, except food, said the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) in a joint statement. Contributing to headline inflation's rise was an increase in the cost of private road transport, which edged up 0.1 per cent in May, reversing April's 0.8% decline. This was due to a faster pace of increase Page 5 of 7
  8. 26-Jun-18 in petrol prices , and a smaller year-ago fall in car prices following a rise in Certificate of Entitlement premiums. (The Business Times) United States U.S. New Home Sales Rose 6.7% in May Sales of new homes in the U.S. rose heading into the summer months, despite high selling prices and low home inventory. Purchases of newly-built single-family homes—a relatively narrow slice of all U.S. home sales—grew 6.7% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 689,000 in May, the Commerce Department said. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had expected a smaller 0.9% increase. From the prior year, sales increased 14.1% in May. The pace of new-home sales still remains well below the elevated levels seen before the 2007-09 financial crisis and recession. New-home sales data can be volatile. May’s 6.7% gain came with a margin of error of 14.1 percentage points. Sales in the South appeared to drive last month’s growth. New-home purchases in the region rose 17.9%, the largest gain since the end of 2014. Meanwhile, sales in the Northeast and West declined and purchases were flat in the Midwest in May. More widely, housing market inventory has been tight, driving up home prices and pricing some potential buyers out of the market. Scarce construction labor and rising material costs and mortgage rates are also headwinds for the housing market. The average interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage in May was 4.59%, up more than half a point from 4.03% in January, according to Freddie Mac. Recordhigh lumber prices have added nearly $9,000 to the price of a new single-family home since January 2017, according to the National Association of Home Builders. (WSJ) Europe and Uni ted Kingdom ECB Official Signals No Debate on Rate Rises Before October 2019 European Central Bank officials could start to discuss raising short-term interest rates from autumn next year, a top ECB policy maker said, amplifying the caution expressed by the bank’s President Mario Draghi in recent days. The ECB’s patient approach comes as the 19nation Eurozone economy slows and faces burgeoning threats, including rising oil prices and escalating trade tensions between the world’s biggest economic blocs. “I think from the current perspective, maybe we can think about the possibility to discuss further steps in autumn [next year], but as I said, discuss,” said Vitas Vasiliauskas, who sits on the ECB’s ratesetting committee as head of Lithuania’s central bank, in an interview. His comments that the ECB could “discuss” rate increases only in the fall of 2019 suggest it could be the end of next year before the ECB actually increases interest rates, further widening an already large gap with the U.S., which have been rising steadily. The export-focused Eurozone economy appears to have slowed sharply this year, with growth slumping to about half the rate of the U.S. In Germany, which accounts for about 30% of Eurozone output, a closely watch indicator of business sentiment recorded its sixth drop in seven months on Monday amid mounting concerns over trade. (WSJ) German Ifo Business Morale Weakens in June Germany's business confidence weakened, as expected, in June as trade wars weighed on current assessment of companies, survey data from the Munich-based Ifo Institute showed. The business climate index dropped to 101.8 in June from revised 102.3 in May. A similar score was last seen in May 2017. The reading also matched economists' expectations. Companies were less satisfied with their current business situation. By contrast, their business expectations remained slightly optimistic. The current situation indicator slid to a 1-year low of 105.1 in June from revised 106.1 in May. The score was forecast to ease moderately to 105.6. Meanwhile, the expectations index held steady at 98.6 in June. The expected score was 98.0. The tailwind enjoyed by the German economy is calming down, Ifo President Clemens Fuest said. The Ifo survey showed that business climate in manufacturing weakened due to poorer assessments of the current business situation. In the service sector, business climate deteriorated reflecting slight fall in current business confidence. Service providers also scaled back their expectations for the months ahead. 13. 26-Jun-18 Our View We are positive on the contract wins by Serba as it brings the Group closer to its end-year target orderbook of RM7 .5bn. Inclusive of these new contract wins, Serba’s orderbook now stands at RM6.6bn versus RM6.3bn previously. This implies earnings visibility of 2.0x years based on FY18E forecasts. YTD, Serba has secured RM1.3bn new orders and is still well within our orderbook replenishment assumption of RM3.7bn. Note that our orderbook assumption includes contract renewals and adhoc works. We estimate renewals and adhoc works totalled RM1.5bn in FY17. Serba’s maiden contract in Kazakhstan is a huge positive as it enables Serba to gain a foothold in the country. Going forward, we expect Serba to continue securing contracts from this country. We note that currently Serba only operates at Turkmenistan in the Central Asian region. Furthermore, we are positive on the fact that Serba’s contracts were not obtained solely from Malaysian companies. Contract wins from various countries highlight Serba’s ability to bid competitively in the global arena. Impact Maintain earnings forecasts. Valuation Maintain TP of RM4.72 based on 15x CY19 PER. We continue to like Serba for its 1) global exposure, 2) aggressive expansion into the power and water industries, 3) major development in Pengerang and 4) robust orderbook expansion. Reiterate BUY. The technical BUY/SELL signals on the last four columns are auto generated; the first two being existing or recent signals while the last two represent a signal change from BUY to SELL or the reverse, otherwise no change is indicated by a dash. INTERPRETATION OF TECHNICAL INDICATORS: Bollinger Bands: Variable width bands that narrow during less volatile periods and widen during more volatile periods. As a general rule, in a bearish trend, traders should buy when share price touches the lower band and exit when price touches the middle band. The reverse is true in a bullish trend, ie. Buy when price touches the middle band and sell when price touches the upper band. Momentum traders tend to buy on price breakouts above the upper band, and sell when price breaks down below the lower band. 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI): A reading below 30 is considered oversold, above 70 is overbought. A rise above 50 with a corresponding share price surge above the 30-day moving average should be taken as a bullish move with good short-term upside potential. A fall below 50 and a simultaneous dip below the 30-day average is bearish and imply further near-term downside risk. Moving Averages: A stock’s short-term trend is bullish if share price stays above the 10-day moving average, and bearish if it stays below. The medium-term trend is positive if share price stays above the 30-day average, and negative if it remains below. A longer-term uptrend is intact if share price sustain above the 50-day average, and is deemed broken if it breaches below this level. Directional Movement Indicator (DMI): The DMI is an indicator of trend strength. A positive DMI difference (DMI diff) value is bullish and indicate a higher DI+ vs. DI-, while a negative DMI diff is bearish due to a lower DI+ vs. DI- (DMI diff = DI+ minus DI-). A crossover of DI+ above DI- triggers a BUY signal, while a SELL signal is flashed when the DI+ crosses below the DI-. The Average Directional Movement Index (ADX) indicates the strength of a trend, whether it is up or down. The higher the value of ADX, the stronger the trend. An ADX value above 25 suggests a trending market or stock, while a value below 20 signal congestion or absence of trend. Daily Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD): The MACD diff value is derived from the difference between the MACD line (the 12-day EMA minus the 26-day EMA) and the MACD signal line (the 9-day EMA of the MACD). A positive MACD diff value is bullish, while a negative MACD diff is bearish. A BUY signal is generated when the MACD diff rises above zero, and SELL signal sparked when the MACD diff value falls below zero. Page 1 of 4

This is a good watch list for momentum traders looking for short-term BUY ideas, as they are laggards with good upside potential towards the upper Bollinger band or higher to TAKE PROFIT/SELL. Caveat: Some stocks may continue to stay range bound and trade sideways, hence traders should refer to their respective charts to spot accumulation (volume growth) or breakout patterns. INTERPRETATION OF TECHNICAL INDICATORS: Moving Averages: A stock’s short-term trend is bullish if share price stays above the 10-day moving average, and bearish if it stays below. The medium-term trend is positive if share price stays above the 30-day, and negative if it remains below this average. 14-day RSI: A reading below 30 is considered oversold, above 70 is overbought. A rise above 50 with a corresponding share price surge above the 30-day SMA should be taken as a bullish move with good short-term upside potential. A fall below 50 and a simultaneous dip below the 30-day SMA is bearish and imply further near-term downside risk. Bollinger Bands: Variable width bands that narrow during less volatile periods and widen during more volatile periods. As a general rule, in a bearish trend, traders should buy when share price touches the lower band and exit when price touches the middle band. The reverse is true in a bullish trend, ie. Buy when price touches the middle band and sell when price touches the upper band. Momentum traders will buy on price breaks above the upper band, and sell when price breaks below the lower band. Alternatively, a sharp move that originates at one band tends to go all the way to the other band, a useful observation when projecting price targets. Page 1 of 2
  22. *Note: To qualify in the breakout list below, the first sorting criteria is stock price must close ABOVE the upper Bollinger Band, followed by a second criteria that trading volume for the day must be significantly higher than the 20-day average volume, which signal a bullish breakout. Caveat: We would caution momentum traders that a highly overbought 14-day RSI reading (> 80) and share price pullback BELOW the upper Bollinger Band are early warning signals to exit buy breakout trades.
